Launched in August of 2023, Polytechnic Media Productions is a student-led group that seeks to learn about the music and entertainment industries with a hands-on, project-based approach. Using media arts, Poly High School students will get to formulate, create, and share social media content for the local businesses and organizations of Sun Valley.
Polytechnic Media Productions meets during lunch and after school on Wednesdays 3:30 - 5:00 PM. It is located in room 512 by the bridge.

ABOUT
I am the founder and first president of Polytechnic Media Productions. I created this club to allow people to find minded artists and have a place to express their creative ideas in several ways, all while working on projects which connect the people and the school, promoting events, sports, and people, to create a more involved and connected community. I had been a digital artist and video editor and wanted to express a new avenue of art through photography and videography.

When you go to any sporting or school events here at Poly you almost always see a lack of student participation, especially at pep rallies where school spirit is meant to be the highest. With Poly Media I want to try to raise school spirit and student participation by showing them all the events that happen here and keep them informed with everything that’s going on because I know the morning announcements don't cover everything. Poly Media is meant to show people that students can do a lot more than think here, like starting their own band or cooking gourmet dishes, so much happens here at Poly and so much of it can give students amazing opportunities for the future, we just have to show them. One thing I can say for sure about myself is that Poly Media has influenced me to continue down this pathway, even in a career of environmental engineering I can see myself photographing everything to keep people informed.

ABOUT
I joined the Media Club because my friend sparked my interest in cameras, and I hope that being part of Poly Media will help me develop photography as a long-term hobby. As the community manager for Poly Media Production, I collaborate with community partners inside and outside of school to create projects that highlight the unique contributions of individuals and organizations making a difference. One of my most memorable projects was organizing a collaboration with Perry Place Heaven on Earth, where we photographed cats available for adoption and created engaging posts to showcase their personalities, including Cleo, a lively three-legged cat who stood out. Through Poly Media, I hope to continue promoting hidden meaningful stories using Poly media as a gateway to connect the school with the broader community.
After high school, I plan to attend UC Davis with a major in mechanical engineering, ultimately with the goal of developing inventions that improve life on Earth. My passion for problem-solving and innovation striving from a young age drives me to explore engineering solutions that would make a positive impact. While photography is a way for me to express the life around my community, my ultimate aspiration is to use my major in mechanical engineering to design and develop new inventions that would end up enhance everyday life.

I have always been a long time sports fanatic, after high school I never joined any sports teams but I found my way through my introduction to photo and videography that feeds my passion for sports. I absolutely love going to every event and capturing every little detail using my camera. I find joy in being able to capture very little detail using my camera and immerse myself into the environment. I like to use my videos to tell a story. In the near future I would love to grow this passion and build a brand where I can consistently express stories using my camera. I believe that I was able to develop great leadership skills through being part of the Polytechnic Media group, learning how to manage a team and delegate tasks to my peers. This experience will be crucial as I move forward in my future career.
After High School I plan on attending Cal Poly Slo with a major in Business management Economics. My second option is to attend UC Davis with a degree in Business. My ability for management and being able to deal with tough situations and deadlines I believe that I can be part of the next generation of great entrepreneurs who make a difference in their community and society. Along with my passion for traveling the world, I intend to travel to other countries to immerse myself into other cultures and expand my knowledge and business endeavors.
