PWR to the youth

Working in conjunction with music industry professionals and community members, Poly is excited to announce the launch of a high school student-run record label that will also provide publishing and management services for Poly High School students, alumni, and local community artists.

Past Events

Our annual Parrot Fest is a school-wide community event that opens our campus to students, family, staff and the neighborhoods surrounding our school. Parrot Fest includes a variety of vendors (food, non-profit organizations, after school programs, school sports, and local businesses), an art gallery that showcases our student artists and a performance stage to display our student musicians and community artists.

The next upcoming Parrot Fest is Friday, May 3, 2024.

NISHWAKIE.
Nishwakie, a hip-hop/R&B group with Caribbean vibes, is a unique music group that features Tarik Lord (lead singer), Josh Feliciano (guitar), Melissa Haugabook (keys), Quincy Holland (drums) and Brian Boill't (sax), Matty Taylor (bass), and frequent collaborator Noh (rapper).

Signed in Fall of 2023, Nishwakie brings to PWR a unique sound and a resource for Poly students to collaborate on music ideas and songwriting, as well as experiment in developing marketing for a local artist. 

The goal of this partnership is to share in resources and to develop both the musicians and the school community by allowing Poly students to partake in the "learning while doing" approach to the music industry and the careers that it unlocks.
ONLY GOOD INTENTIONS.
PWR is proud to present Only Good Intentions, our first artist on the roster. Comprised of four Poly students Brian Sierra ('22), Demis Serrano ('22), Dylan Miranda ('22), and Anthony Duran ('20). Their new song, "This Goes Out to Us" is out now on all digital streaming platforms.

Social Media Manager / Digital Content Manager
  • Helps decide what to post to promote the artists we’re working with and for PWR as an organization
  • Mocks up drafts and brings ideas on content to post (submitted to Ms Lui for posting)

Photographer / Videographer 
  • Uses the new PWR cameras and microphones to capture content
  • Taking pictures and videos (headshots, music video, video/picture promo) of the artists and for PWR members

Graphic Artist
  • Capture and edit pictures, videos and general content of PWR and its members​​
A&R (ARTIST AND REPERTOIRE)

Agent
  • Separated by genre (Hip Hop A&R Agent, Spanish Music A&R Agent) 
  • In charge of finding talent at Poly and surrounding communities to potentially work with PWR crew
  • Bring the artists in for a meeting to get to know them first and must have Ms Lui to sign off

Research & Analytics Manager
  • Gathers data (can be Google, access to Chartmetric and Luminate databases) and forecasts potential trends to better market PWR and its artists​​
